2014 ACFW Pre-conference Mix and Mingle

Jill Uncategorized 21 Comments

I’m participating in the pre-conference mix and mingle started by Laurie Tomlinson. (What a fun idea! Thanks, Laurie!)

Basically, I answer a few questions and then link up to Laurie’s site.

Here are the questions and my answers!

Name: Jill Lynn (This is my pen name. I would tell you my real last name but then I’d have to have my suspense writing friends put you in a book.)

Location: Colorado. Best. State. But NOT the home of the best state fair. That honor goes to Minnesota. (Whether my husband wants to hear it or not.)

What you write/tagline/trademark: Contemporary Inspirational Romance.

Place in the book world: My first book, Falling for Texas, will be available February 2015 from Harlequin Love Inspired. I’m working on a marketing plan. (If anyone does book reviews or hosts authors on their blog, let me know!)

On a scale of hugger to 10-foot-pole, please rate your personal space: I prefer to tackle people.

The unique talking point that will get you going for hours: Writing, my kids, the latest deal I found at a thrift store or garage sale.

Loved ones at home you’ll be missing: My hubs, daughter and son.

Conference goals we can pray for? That I’ll meet and talk to all of the people God has planned for me.

One or two ways we can help you build your platform? Yes! You can like my author page on Facebook, follow me on twitter, or sign up for my email list. All are conveniently located on the right side of this post. πŸ™‚

Head over to Laurie’s site and link up if you want to join in and meet other ACFW peeps: http://www.laurietomlinson.com/2014-pre-conference-mix-and-mingle/

  4. I’ll be sure to be very careful not to let your ‘real’ name slip, Jill. I’d hate to end up in a suspense novel. πŸ˜‰

  5. Hi Jill! I live in Colorado too, and I totally agree that it does NOT have the best state fair. Though we may have a throwdown regarding your opinion that it’s the best state ever because that honor totally goes to North Carolina. πŸ™‚

Your website is really beautiful, and I love, love, love your picture there in the sidebar. Super cute. Hope to meet you this year at ACFW!

  7. Oh! Since you mention thrift store deals, I’ll say this: I’m big on photo rescues. When I go to the antique market and I find cabinet cards or other old photos, I just love to look at them, and if there are enough clues that I think I might be able to find the person using genealogy databases, and if the price is right, I go for it. Future generations will be so confused by Great-Aunt Brandy’s collection of “family” photos…!

Congrats on your upcoming release and I hope you have a great conference! Hope to meet you there! πŸ™‚
